Vincenzo Latronico
The ‘sliding door’ that decided Vincenzo Latronico’s permanent transfer to Germany is the e-mail with which his university lecturer informed him that he would support his application for a scholarship in the United States. The choice to stay therefore imposes itself with all its inevitability. It starts from there with “The Key to Berlin” (Einaudi, 2023), an educational novel the author dedicated to the city where he has lived since 2009. Before arriving there, his bio-bibliographic geography also includes Rome, his birthplace, Paris, where he sets the scene for the debut of “Gymnastics and Revolution” (Bompiani, 2008), and Milan, where he studied and the location of “The Pigeon Plot” (Bompiani, 2011), Naples and Bergamo prize winner. He closes the loop with “Perfections” (Bompiani, 2023), which is being translated in twenty countries, and returns to Berlin. Latronico is also a collaborator with La Stampa.
